The Best Trips on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad
The Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad’s weekend service runs from May 19th until the end of September, and their daily service runs from May 28th to September 14th. Tickets are just $22 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $14 for children ages 10 to 3.
Oregon Coastal Excursion
This 1.5-hour adventure is offered daily and travels along Tillamook Bay and the Oregon Coast, between Garibaldi and Rockaway Beach. It’s a relaxing ride that features scenic views and lets passengers experience what train travel was like many years ago. Guests can catch the train at both the Rockaway Beach Station and the Garibaldi Station.
Fall Splendor Excursion
Every weekend in October, visitors embark on a picturesque Fall Splendor Excursion along the Nehalem River. You’ll experience Oregon’s bright, warm colors of autumn and enjoy breathtaking views you’ll never forget. Be sure to bring your camera! This trip lasts two hours and offers both open and enclosed train cars, depending on the weather.
Sunset Dinner Train
On select Saturdays, the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad offers their Sunset Dinner Train package. It departs from Garibaldi and includes a delicious four-course meal that’s paired with spectacular scenery. They have two seating options, so guests have the option to pick which views they want. On one side, passengers enjoy gazing upon Tillamook and Nehalem Bays, as well as the Pacific Ocean. On the other, you’ll enjoy vast mountainous views. There is also a Club Car option for those who choose to skip dinner but still want to experience the sunset trip.
Special Excursions

If you’re visiting during the holiday season, you won’t want to miss their Candy Cane Express. This family-friendly ride includes a visit with Santa, cookies and hot cocoa, and plenty of good cheer! The excursion is available on select dates from November 25th until December 23rd.
