Where to Experience Oregon Coast Christmas Lights
1. Cannon Beach in Lights
Celebrate the holidays in Cannon Beach, Oregon! Cannon Beach in Lights is a festive decorating contest that gives residents and businesses a chance to showcase their skills. It’s held from the end of November through mid-December and features spectacular light displays all over town. Be sure to vote for your favorite online; winners for commercial and residential decorating will be announced at the Coaster Theatre.
Can’t make it to Cannon Beach in Lights? There are plenty of other Haystack Holiday events to attend! Sign up for the holiday wreath-making workshop and learn how to create a beautiful piece for your home. Or visit Sandpiper Square for the annual Lamp Lighting Ceremony. 2. Seaside’s Holiday Parade of Lights
The Holiday Parade of Lights kicks off the holiday season in Seaside, Oregon. Each year, a parade of decorated floats begins on Necanicum Drive and moves through town to the Musical Tree of Dancing Lights. Families, community groups, and other parade-watchers gather around the tree to sing carols as Santa hands out candy canes to the children. The Parade of Lights is held the Friday after Thanksgiving and starts at 7 p.m.
3. Rockaway Beach Holiday Gift Fair
Mark your calendars for the Rockaway Beach Holiday Gift Fair! Over the course of Thanksgiving weekend, the Rockaway Beach Civic Facility offers food concessions, music, and more as a fundraiser for the Rockaway Beach Park & Recreation Program. The Fair is a great opportunity to help the community and to purchase some unique holiday gifts.
Local Tip: While you’re in the area, stop by the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in downtown Rockaway Beach for tree decorating, caroling, cookies, and cocoa. Don’t forget to bring a homemade ornament!
